AND WORK, AND WORK
girl in the curious city

I've never been much of a "gym" person. Too much exposure to the general public. I can't work out hard if I'm concerned about whether or not someone thinks I run so slow. (I do.) I think that's why I prefer to run at night as well. The only things I do like about gyms are the classes. I think I am a group exercise type of person, minus the public scrutiny part. So how do I reconcile these two contradictory preferences? I work out at in the privacy of my home, but I follow DVDs/videos.

Before I continue, let me make it clear that I am not a very consistent exerciser anymore. Due to my back injury last year, I had to completely stop, and I'm only now starting to pick up exercise again.

In college, I did a couple Pilates DVDs that weren't too intense. Even still, Monica and I definitely struggled.

I've been working out with crazy Jillian Michaels via the 30 Day Shred for a while now. I love/hate her.

But, I've been coming across these other online options that I'll share with you all today:

1) Tracy Anderson
2) Nano Workout for mini workouts to squeeze in throughout the day with cute illustrations

3) My Barre3 is my current #1 contender. It's $15 a month, and there are workouts of varying lengths.

What I'd really like to find is something like My Barre3 but with more types of workouts, and maybe more of a circuit training / hi lo approach. Let me know if you try out any of the above!

And I'll leave you with my favorite workout song:
