MONICA
We took advantage of the President's Day long weekend and took a trip up to Norcal which started the day before Valentine's Day. We took the 101 scenic drive up through Big Sur and landed in San Francisco just in time to celebrate Vday with our buddy Edgar. It's a tradition for Antony to cook a meal for me on this day and I requested sushi. Our ad hoc sushi concoction included masago, furikake, cucumber, daikon radish, avocado, vinegared sushi rice, salmon sashimi, seaweed, and of course my favorite kewpie mayo! A few handrolls, glasses of wine, and shots of whisky later, we concluded the night with a slumber party.

BDF researched an organic gelato spot a few blocks away. We tried the coffee, vanilla, pear sorbet, and salted caramel. The gelato was tasty, but nothing compared to ice cream in Argentina - more details on that next week! It was a short and simple date, but a nice reward after a busy day of running errands.
Happy Valentine's Day from our other sweethearts!
Valentine's Day did not disappoint this year... in being disappointing! Unfortunately my sinuses have been making my life miserable, and Thursday was no exception. (Anyone out there have a magic solution for spring allergies?) In lieu of Valentine's Day, we celebrated Fake Valentine's Day later in the weekend.
We went back to our 2nd date spot, Vinoteca Farfalla. Anything served in a wheel of cheese [!!!] will never be anything less than delicious. Try the risotto and spaghetti.
